Cookie Policy
What we store on your device, why, and how to change your choices.
Last updated 22 October 2026. Applies to users in India.
Draft, for legal review. This document has not yet been approved by counsel.
What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies include local storage, which keeps small pieces of data on your device. In this policy "cookies" covers both.
What Tracklist India uses
We keep cookies to a minimum.
- Essential storage (always on): one local storage item,
sc-consent, which records your cookie choice so we do not ask you on every page. It contains no personal data beyond that choice and stays until you clear it. - Embedded content (only with consent): our Charts pages can show the Spotify Top 50 India player. When it loads, Spotify may set its own cookies and receive technical data such as your IP address. We load the player only if you choose "Accept all", or when you press "Load player" on the page.
- Advertising (only with consent): pages carry clearly labelled advertising slots. Today they show our own house adverts, which set no cookies. When we switch on third-party advertising (Google AdSense or Google Ad Manager), those services may set cookies or use similar technologies to show, cap and measure ads. They load only if you choose "Accept all", and never if you choose "Essential only". We do not target advertising at children.
- Session storage: if you close the small advertising bar at the bottom of the screen on mobile, one session storage item,
sc-adfoot, remembers that for the rest of your visit. - Analytics: we do not use analytics cookies at present. If we introduce them, we will update this policy and ask for your consent first.
Your choices
When you first visit, a banner lets you choose "Accept all" or "Essential only". You can change your choice at any time through Cookie settings in the footer of every page. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential storage means we cannot remember your choice.
Consent under Indian law
We ask for consent in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023: the request is specific, in plain language, and as easy to withdraw as to give. More detail is in our Privacy Policy.
