Zee Music Company has signed singer-songwriter and actor Noor Chahal, the label announced in mid-October. Chahal will release solo singles and collaborations with the company over the rest of 2026 and into 2027.

Chahal grew up in Punjab and first found listeners through acoustic covers she posted on YouTube and Instagram. Her screen work since then includes the Punjabi films Ikko Mikke and Bajre Da Sitta.

That makes her a two-track signing. She arrives with an audience that found her through music online and a second one that knows her from the screen, and the label will be hoping to bring both to the new releases.

What the deal covers

Under the agreement she will work on solo material, collaborations with other artists and projects across genres. Zee will put its distribution network behind the releases.

"Joining Zee Music Company marks an exciting new chapter in my musical journey," Chahal said in a statement. She said she was looking forward to trying new sounds and working with other musicians.

Sujal Parekh, Zee Music Company's chief business officer, said the label wants artists with distinct voices and the room to develop their own sound, and that it intends to experiment with Chahal and take her music to listeners across India.

The label's other business

Zee Music Company built its name on Hindi film soundtracks, and that remains the bulk of what it releases. Signings like this one sit alongside the film catalogue as part of a push into original, non-film music by artists the label can build over several releases.

For Chahal, the move brings a major label's reach to a career that started with covers on social media. The label has said the releases will roll out across late 2026 and 2027, and how far she goes will depend on what that first run of songs does.
